David Nasser

As one of the nation's upcoming speakers and visionaries, David Nasser’s greatest passion is to connect people to the living God. He has been involved in revivals, citywide rallies, camps, and school assemblies, speaking to over 700,000 people each year.

When David was 9 years old, he was forced to flee his native homeland of Iran with his family. Leaving behind everything, they escaped to the United States in hopes of beginning a new life. In the years that followed, David felt isolated and sought acceptance from his peers, turning to everything imaginable to fit in. At the age of 18, David was saved and found purpose through a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

David’s ministry, the D. Nasser Outreach (DNO), seeks to effectively present the relevant message of the Gospel using fresh, innovative methods and resources. DNO is growing rapidly as a mentoring and consulting ministry as well.

David has worked extensively with ministries such as Youth Specialties, Student Life, Acquire the Fire, and many others. He also works several times a year with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Team as a speaker for city-wide youth rallies, crusade testimony, and Schools of Evangelism.

Our team spent some time with David for a ministry project and we talked to him about being authentic and dealing with pain and suffering. You can see more of David in one of the video resources on the right.

Teenage Christians often struggle to be different from the world, what is your advice for them?

David Nasser: My greatest concern is not to be different from the world, but just to be what God wants me to be…when I am what God wants me to be, I’m going to be different from the world…because this world doesn’t live for the glory of God. If I am going to live for the glory of God, that is going to set me apart and make me a Romans 12:1-2 believer.

How do you counsel teenagers who are struggling to be authentic?

David Nasser: The greatest way to walk authentically and consistently is to acknowledge the presence of God and not only acknowledge the presence of God, but realize the position God has and that he expects his children to live that blameless life. He expects us to be different from the world simply because he’s given us the ability to…grace does not give us the ability to go do whatever we want…I have the grace of God as a believer…I have the ability to be authentic.

How do you encourage young people who are suffering?

David Nasser: Suffering is a great opportunity for not only the world to see us shine the glory of God, but also for you and I to deepen our faith. That’s exactly what the devil doesn’t want. He wants us to question our faith through suffering.

How do you counsel people who are holding in pain and not dealing with it?

David Nasser: I would encourage someone who is holding in pain and holding in issues in their life…to find someone in their life that they can confide in and point them towards the things of God.
