When I meet someone for the first time it’s inevitable that the question, “so where do you work?”  will be asked.  I carry two business cards and I am never quite sure which one to pull out.

In January of 2000 I joined the ministry of Bluefish TV because I was excited to use my radio/television/film degree to communicate Biblical truth.  Several years later I now find myself as Executive Vice President of Product Development.  I lead a team of 12 passionate producers, designers and writers who create all the video resources that Bluefish TV produces each year. Our team has worked closely with Erwin McManus, Donald Miller, Margaret Feinberg, Les and Leslie Parrott, Todd Phillips, David Nasser, Louie Giglio, and a host of other great communicators.

To date over 93,000 churches have used at least one Bluefish TV resource.  In a country where there are more screens (TV, computer and phone) than people, we love using those screens to encourage people to live out their faith.

Alongside of Bluefish TV, in 2000 I founded The RightNow Campaign.  So my other business card says Director.  Through some experiences in my early 20’s (you can read more here) I realized that my generation is longing to use their God-given passions and skills to do something significant now instead of waiting until their 50’s.  We are willing to trade in our pursuit of the American Dream for a world that desperately needs Christ.  But many times we just don’t know what step to take next.  The RightNow Campaign has established a network of 75 mission agencies and service organizations and from what we can track, the campaign has connected over 2000 people to specific opportunities to make a difference in their neighborhoods, cities and the world.

The RightNow Campaign has also created two events: LeadNow is for anyone who ministers to 20 and 30 somethings. The Fusion Experience is an opportunity for all 20 and 30 somethings to discover how their life experiences and passions can impact God’s kingdom.

One thing I love about my roles with Bluefish TV and The RightNow Campaign is that I get to combine my love for storytelling with some of the best stories in the world.  I have traveled to Sudan, China, Cuba, India, Romania, Argentina, Tanzania, Kyrgyzstan and other places shooting documentaries of regular people who God is using in incredible ways. 

After graduating from Baylor University in 1999 I married my high school sweetheart, Julie. We now live in Allen, Texas and love being parents of Abby and Grant.  We are licensed foster parents and so many times our house is a little fuller as we add a baby to our home for a season.  In 2004 Julie and I were part of a core group of families that started Allen Bible Church.  The first meeting was actually in our living room before we moved into a school in our area.  I serve alongside a group of Godly men as an Elder of the church and love that I get to learn on a daily basis about what it practically means to be the church.

So if I meet you on the street you might see me struggle for a moment before I give you a business card.  Or you might be lucky and end up with two.
