As the British captain of his own slave ship, John Newton was known for cruelty to both his human cargo and crew. In the midst of a great storm at sea, John called out for God’s help and protection. This pivotal moment changed his life forever. He became a renowned pastor and wrote the lyrics to the most famous hymn ever written, Amazing Grace. This inspiring video illustration is set to the hymn sung by The Ascenders.
