BIO

Mark Batterson Mark Batterson
Dr. Mark Batterson is the Lead Pastor at National Community Church in Washington DC. Starting with a core group of 19 people, NCC has grown into a church with multiple locations in various movie theaters and metro stops throughout the area and was recognized as one of the 25 Most Innovative Churches in America by Outreach Magazine.

Mark went to the University of Chicago on a basketball scholarship and majored in pre-law. After a prayer walk through a cow pasture in 1989, he felt called to full-time ministry and ended up at Central Bible College. Mark currently holds two master's degrees from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, IL a Doctor of Ministry from Regent University.

He is the author of a dozen books including In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day and The Circle Make, a New York Times Bestseller. Mark lives on Capitol Hill with his wife, Lora and their three children.
