Rebecca St. James Rebecca St. James

Christian singer and songwriter, Rebecca St. James, has been a defining voice in contemporary Christian music for more than a decade. She is known for reaching out to her peers and teens, using her signature blend of modern rock/pop sensibilities and lyrics of unwavering devotion.

With diversity and depth, the Australian-born singer, who is the eldest of seven kids, has made the globe her mission field since debuting in 1994 at age 16. Rebecca has been called the most influential woman in Christian music by Crosswalk.com and in 2002 she was named Best Female Artist by the readers of CCM and Campus Life magazines.

The song, Wait for Me, from her album, Transform, was defining for Rebecca because it addressed her inspiring commitment to remain abstinent until marriage. She continues to promote abstinence and is a national spokeswoman for the True Love Waits campaign.
